GREENWICH - Greenwich police say a man has confessed to trying to kill his wife with a baseball bat following an argument Tuesday.

When they apprehended Michael DeMaio for allegedly trying to kill his wife with a baseball bat, police say Demaio told officers, "I lost it. I just lost it."

They say DeMaio later gave them a full confession, which was recorded on camera.

One officer says he found DeMaio's wife, Diane, bleeding profusely from the head when he arrived at the home on Round Hill Road in Greenwich. He says part of her skull was soft to the touch.

The 54-year-old was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

DeMaio remains locked up, with bail set at $1 million bond.
