STAMFORD - Stamford police say they charged a mother with arranging for her daughter and her friends to party with alcohol and drugs at a hotel.

Police say they first noticed the woman's car being driven by a teenager without a license on Monday. After questioning 52-year-old Maryann Sapione, police say they realized there was a warrant for her regarding an April incident at a hotel.

Sapione is accused of renting a room at a Hampton Inn for a party that ended with one teenager being taken to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.

Police say they're also investigating whether Sapione willingly loaned her car to people suspected in two recent shootings on Perry Street and Connecticut Avenue.

The Department of Children and Families is also looking into the case.
