NORWALK - Officials are investigating a garage fire that broke out this morning in Norwalk that may have been intentionally set.

When the fire department arrived shortly after the blaze ignited at around 10 a.m., they say the garage was engulfed in flames. One person was taken to Norwalk Hospital with burns on his back and head. His current condition remains unknown, but police say he is conscious.

Norwalk police tell News 12 Connecticut that they have a person of interest in custody in regard to the possible arson. They say he was picked up at a homeless shelter on Merritt Street shortly after the flames broke out.

Authorities say the suspect's motive is unknown.
