Police patrol for luring suspect in Norwalk

NORWALK - Norwalk police are searching for a man who is accused of approaching a child as she was getting off her school bus last week.

Authorities say the 10-year-old girl claims a suspicious man in a blue van with tinted windows approached her and offered her candy as she was getting off the school bus in South Norwalk near Meadow Gardens.  They say the girl refused, ran away, and told her father.

She claims she saw the same man the next day in a different white van.

Norwalk public schools sent a letter home to parents asking them to review stranger danger tactics with their children.

The school district says the student described the suspect as a white man in his late 30s with a scar on his right cheek. He was wearing a green hoodie and glasses.

Police say they are increasing patrols in the area during the afternoons.
