Police probe death of elderly woman in Stamford

STAMFORD - Police are investigating after an elderly woman was found dead in her home in Stamford this afternoon.

Police say they were called to the home on Sylvan Knoll Road at around 4:30 p.m.

Neighbors say the victim was in her 80s and lived in the home with her son, who is in his late 50s or early 60s. They say they saw emergency crews carrying the man out of the home on a stretcher.

Police say they have a suspect in connection with the death but declined to say if the person had already been taken into custody.
