NORWALK - A Norwalk man accused of stabbing his roommate on Easter Sunday appeared in court Monday.

Authorities say 43-year-old Virgilio Berrios stabbed his roommate after the two men got into a fight at around 10:30 a.m. while drinking. Witnesses say the argument got so heated, Berrios grabbed a box cutter and stabbed the victim several times in the forehead, arm and leg.

Berrios is charged with assault and authorities say he has been ordered to go through substance abuse evaluation and treatment.

The stabbing victim is listed in stable condition.
