Police probe fatal dog shooting in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police say they are investigating after a pet dog was fatally shot on a city street last night.

According to Kayce Gillesbie, her 2-year-old rescue mix, Buddy, was killed while playing with the neighborhood kids in front of her home on Harbor Avenue.

Witnesses told police that the dog had aggressively gone after a man, who then started running and fired his gun. Officials say the dog was hit twice and later died.

However, Gillesbie claims that her dog was at no point aggressive. She is offering a reward to anyone with information about the shooter.
