Police have recovered a 600-pound safe that was stolen from a Westport restaurant last week.The safe was spotted by a family walking through the woods

WESTPORT - Police have recovered a 600-pound safe that was stolen from a Westport restaurant last week.

The safe was spotted by a family walking through the woods behind Ponus Ridge Middle School in Norwalk.

The safe was stolen from Viva Zapata restaurant in Westport. An ATM stolen from the same restaurant was found in the same wooded area last Monday. Police are still looking for the thieves.
