Police: Robber killed in restaurant burglary attempt

Bridgeport police say they found a man dead in a car after he allegedly attempted to rob a restaurant.Police say the man attempted to rob

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police say they found a man dead in a car after he allegedly attempted to rob a restaurant.

Police say the man attempted to rob the Peking Restaurant at Wood Avenue and Wade Street around 9 p.m., but was shot by the owner of the restaurant.

The man then fled the scene in a car where he then crashed a few blocks away at West Taft Avenue.

Investigators are unsure if the man died from the gunshot wound or from the car crash.

Police are still looking for any other possible robbery suspects.
