BRIDGEPORT - Police say they are searching for the suspect who tied up a 90-year-old Bridgeport woman during a home invasion yesterday.

Authorities say a man knocked on the door to Manuela Vadi's home on Fairfield Avenue at around 2 p.m. and told her she had to sign for a package.  They say when she opened the door, the suspect attacked her from behind.

Officers say he tied her up with duct tape, ransacked the house, stole cash and her Social Security card, then ran off.

Vadi managed to free herself three hours later and called police from a neighbor's house.

Officials say the victim was not seriously hurt.
