BRIDGEPORT - State police are investigating at a Bridgeport home in the case of an Easton couple missing since early August.
Investigators arrived at a home on Aldine Avenue just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Property records list the homeowner as Kyle Navin. Neighbors say he's the son of the missing couple and lives at the home with his wife.
Neighbor Stephen Parisi says he told investigators that he had never seen Navin's parents in the neighborhood. He also says that he hasn't seen Navin and his wife recently, either.
As News 12 previously reported, police have been searching for Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin since their car was found at a Merritt Parkway commuter lot. They were last seen Aug. 4, but weren't reported missing by family until Aug. 7, police say.
The state's Western District Major Crime Squad took control of the search Wednesday.
The superintendent of Weston's school district says Jeanette Navin worked in the school district for years, most recently in the library at the Weston Intermediate School. Jeffrey Navin is the president of J & J Refuse, a Westport sanitation company.
Court records show that the couple were more than $2 million in debt, but family members have maintained that financial troubles are not connected to the Navins' disappearance.
