STAMFORD - A Stamford husband and father of two is facing charges tonight after police say he tried to hire a hit man to kill his wife.

Stamford police say they first heard rumors that 34-year-old Daniel Buzzeo was looking to hire someone to kill his wife yesterday evening.

Police then set up a sting operation this morning at a rest stop in Darien, using an undercover officer posing as a hit man for hire.

Buzzeo's wife and two children are said to be safe and currently staying with family members.
