Police: Stamford woman hit by 2 different cars

STAMFORD - Stamford police say a woman was seriously hurt after she was hit by an SUV and then dragged by a taxi yesterday evening.

It happened under the I-95 overpass on Lockwood Avenue near Orange Street.

Police say the victim was first hit by a brown or tan Toyota 4-Runner from the late 1990s or early 2000s which then left the scene.

Officials say a taxi then hit her and dragged her 40-50 feet before someone got the taxi to stop.

The victim's injuries, while serious, are not life-threatening, according to authorities.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Stamford police at 203-977-4712.
