STAMFORD - Authorities say a man from Stratford is under arrest after he set two fires at the same house.

One fire was set Wednesday afternoon and the other early yesterday morning.

Police say 51-year-old Michael Sherwood started the first fire on the porch outside a multi-family home on Riverview Place Wednesday afternoon.

They say early the next morning they were called back to the house for another fire.

Police believe Sherwood started the fires because he was upset the home was recently sold.

Police say Sherwood also threatened to burn down officers' homes while he was being arrested.
