BRIDGEPORT - Police in Bridgeport say a man is in custody in connection with a recent rash of groping incidents in the area of Harding High School.

Police spokesman Bill Kaempffer says investigators carefully studied surveillance video and spoke with people in the area while building their case.

As News 12 has reported, there have been multiple incidents involving the improper touching of high school-aged girls at the school within the last few weeks. Police say a student from St. Andrew Academy was groped and the school then sent home a letter warning parents of the situation. They believe the same person also groped students from Harding and Bullard-Havens Technical high schools.

Neighbors in the area say they're grateful that police have made an arrest. The name of the suspect has not yet been released.
