NORWALK - Norwalk police have launched an investigation at Veterans Memorial Park after visitors came across racist graffiti across the front of a monument.

Authorities say someone wrote "KKK" with black marker on the monument, which sits near the American flag. They say the crime is not likely connected to the Ku Klux Klan, but some people still insist they were targeted.

"This is not just personal to people of color, but this kind of affects everybody," says one park-goer.

Police say they will patrol the area at night.
