GREENWICH - A woman was killed after she was struck and dragged by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Greenwich, and now police say the search is on for the driver who fled the scene.

It happened at around 2 a.m. Saturday on William Street.

The victim, a female in her 20s, was transported to the emergency room at Stamford Hospital. She was pronounced dead on arrival. Her identity has not yet been released.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a lowered red sedan with chrome wheels that possibly has front end damage.

The driver is described as a male with light to medium complexion and short, dark hair. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt and a gold chain with a cross at the time of the incident.
