Polls open for Election Day

The polls are officially open this morning in southwestern Connecticut. They opened at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. tonight.

STAMFORD - The polls are officially open this morning in southwestern Connecticut.

They opened at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. tonight.

Some key races include the race for mayor in Norwalk.

Incumbent Dick Moccia faces a challenge from former chief of police Harry Rilling.

In Stamford, voters will pick a new mayor after Michael Pavia decided not to run for re-election.

In all, there are eight contested elections for mayor or first selectmen across southwestern Connecticut.
