GREENWICH - Town officials are reportedly set to impose fines for residents who use irrigation systems to water their lawns. 

The move comes after Aquarion issued a mandatory ban on using sprinklers to water lawns in Greenwich -- and other communities -- last week.

Officials say police will be monitoring and can issue tickets for a $90 fine for each offense, starting tomorrow.
