Power crews continue to work through 5th day of outages

NORWALK - As crews work into the fifth day to restore power across Connecticut, frustrations from powerless residents are beginning to grow.

Power officials across the state say their efforts are paying off and that total outages are now below 145,000.

Connecticut Light & Power officials say they are on target to restore power to 98 percent of its customers across the state by Tuesday.

United Illuminating says that it hopes to restore power to up to 20,000 customers by the end of the day.

"We believe we have a sufficient crew force right now to get all the work done that needs to be done," says James Torgerson, of United Illuminating.
