Preparations underway for annual Milford Oyster Festival

Organizers of the 42nd annual Milford Oyster Festival say preparations are underway for Saturday's big event.

NORWALK - Organizers of the 42nd annual Milford Oyster Festival say preparations are underway for Saturday's big event.

Many food and ride vendors were spotted Thursday afternoon setting up behind the Milford Library.

Jay Pinto, the festival's president, says the event will offer a total of 40,000 oysters, including 19 different kinds from eight states.

For the first time, this year's festival will feature two co-headlining bands: Blue Oyster Cult and the Marshall Tucker Band.

The Oyster Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
