NEW YORK - President Barack Obama says the killing of Osamabin Laden sends a message to the world and the country that "whenwe say we will never forget, we mean what we say."

Obama made his remarks as he visited a Midtown New Yorkfirehouse that lost 15 men during the Sept. 11, 2001 terroristattack.

Obama visited Engine 54 at Engine 54, Ladder 4, Battalion in thecity's theater district Thursday morning, the first stop on histrip to New York to memorialize 9-11 attack victims in the wake ofthe shooting of Osama bin Laden at the hands of U.S. commandos.

The firehouse contains a memorial for the deceased firefightersthat includes messages from their families.
