STAMFORD - The principal of Stamford High School says the school is safe despite a BB gun incident at the school this week, claiming it was unintentional.
Dr. Donna Valentine says that a teacher was hit after a 14-year-old student was showing the gun to a classmate and it went off.
Dr. Valentine says metal detectors are not necessary and she plans on fighting the gun issue through education.
Officials say it is unclear why the student brought the BB gun to the school.
