STAMFORD - A program in Connecticut puts veterans to work, and helps residents become more energy-efficient at the same time.
The federally funded workplace training program teaches veterans how to audit a homeowner?s energy use. The audit can reduce homeowners? power bills, by showing residents how to become more energy-efficient.
Paul Torres, a former veteran, who now works as an energy auditor, is very pleased with the program. He tells News 12 Connecticut that he had some trouble finding a job after being discharged from the Navy. However, he recently enrolled in the training program and is now working as an energy auditor.
"Without this program, I probably wouldn't even have a job right now," he says.
