Property tax deadline looms in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT - The lines were long at the tax office in Bridgeport Friday as residents tried to beat a Monday property tax deadline.

The tax collector's office opened an hour early to deal with the expected crowds paying their property taxes, mostly on their cars.

Bridgeport Tax Collector Anne Kelly-Lenz urges residents to have copies of their current bills or driver's licenses handy when they go to the office.

Residents can also pay on the Web or at several local banks.
