Purse returned to Bridgeport theft victim

BRIDGEPORT - A woman who reported that her purse containing $5,000 was stolen from a Bridgeport bathroom has received most of her money back.

Police say someone turned in the purse to them Thursday night.

Inside was about $3,700 of the $5,000 Lakesha Stines says was in her purse. Stines says the money disappeared from the bathroom of Food Basics when she accidentally left her purse there.

She says she had that much money because she had just cashed her tax refund and was on the way to pay bills.
