The Quinnipiac University poll says 52 percent of Connecticut voters surveyed said they support legalizing marijuana.

HAMDEN - A new poll out this afternoon shows many people in Connecticut support legalizing marijuana for recreational use.

The Quinnipiac University poll says 52 percent of Connecticut voters surveyed said they support legalizing marijuana while 45 percent are against it.

There was a wide age gap among responders though.

Among those 18 to 29 years old the margin was 80 to 20 percent while those over 65 years old opposed the idea 61 to 34 percent.
