BRIDGEPORT - A rally was held tonight in Bridgeport to support school superintendent Paul Vallas after a court ruled Friday that he was not qualified for the job.
The ruling was the result of a lawsuit that claimed Vallas failed to get proper state certification.
Vallas had argued a three-credit independent study he took at the University of Connecticut satisfied the requirements.

City leaders say they are outraged by the court's decision.
Mayor Bill Finch says he expects the city to team up with Vallas to appeal the decision.
Vallas says he plans to work until the courts tell him he isn't allowed to do so.
