Record number of trees fall in New Canaan during nor'easter

NEW CANAAN - A record number of trees fell across New Canaan in Saturday's storm, and as the cleanup continues, many homeowners are wondering who's going to pay for it.

For those who had trees fall onto their cars or roofs, there's a glimmer of hope: an insurance agent tells News 12 Connecticut that her company will pay for the car damages and remove the tree. However, insurance companies will not cover the damages for trees that fell onto empty lawns.

Insurance companies are reminding residents to trim their trees regularly to avoid possible storm damage in the future.
