GREENWICH - The Red Cross says 91 cents of every dollar it receives will go toward relief for disaster victims like those in Haiti.

The Red Cross says the rest of the money goes toward overhead and other costs of running the organization.

However, the group says it's able to give even more when you text a donation.

They say all $10 donated to their Haiti text campaign will go straight to relief. For reference, the Red Cross says $10 will provide water, blankets and shelter to an entire Haitian family. Or it could pay for water and hygiene for 25 people.

To donate, text the word Haiti to 90999.
