REDDING - Officials from Redding's Fire Department say they are in desperate need of volunteer first responders for three districts.

Lt. Henry Sanford says they're looking for volunteer firefighters and emergency medical service responders for the Redding Ridge, West Redding and Georgetown districts. Sanford says they currently don't have enough volunteers close by to help out during emergencies.

Anyone interested in joining can come to the firehouse at 7 p.m. on Monday nights for training. Volunteers need to be at least 18, but 16 and 17-year-olds can help out on a limited basis.
