WESTPORT - A change in zoning regulations brings good news to southwestern Connecticut residents looking to eat outdoors this summer.

More restaurants will soon be allowed to have outdoor dining. The change is a move by the planning and zoning director to bring business back to Westport.

Restaurants such as The River House, which has a patio, say they will be able to seat more people outside this summer with the recent zoning changes and will see more customers because of it.

The new rules go into effect next month.
