Rell to give State of the State address

HARTFORD - The legislative session opens today with Gov. Jodi Rell giving her final budget address to the general assembly.

She will unveil her plan to close the state's $500 million budget gap.

Rell says her budget proposals include fiscal reforms intended to safeguard the state's Rainy Day Fund and a cut down in borrowing and a reduction in the state's debt.

Rell's address is scheduled to start around noon. We will have it for you live, followed by reaction from many of our southwestern Connecticut lawmakers
