FAIRFIELD - Fairfield police have fired a 23-year veteran of the force, according to a report in the Connecticut Post.

Detective Diane Krahm, who was the department's first female officer, had been accused of sexual harassment by another female officer. Krahm also tried to sue the department for sexual discrimination, but her suit was thrown out.

Krahm was reportedly fired last week after she could not come to an agreement under which she would have to quit.
