BRIDGEPORT - The final report into a fire that killed a Bridgeport woman and her three children finds alcohol impairment likely played a role in the deaths.

Tiana Black and her kids all died in the November fire at the PT Barnum Housing Complex.

The report released Thursday found that the stove was left on.

It also stated that Black had an elevated blood alcohol content, and neighbors stated Black regularly drank heavily to the point she would pass out on the couch.

Photographs in the report show firefighters found a bottle of rum near the couch.

Witnesses stated they could hear the smoke alarm in the apartment going off and pictures show childrens' footprints in the soot indicating they tried to get out.

The report's final conclusion stated the fire was an accident but the delayed notification of firefighters combined with Black's intoxication likely contributed to the deaths.
