DANBURY - The mayor of Danbury announced today that he is running for governor.

Republican Mark Boughton held a news conference this morning.

Boughton was a former state representative and ran for lieutenant governor in 2010.

He says he is seeking the Republican nomination because he believes Connecticut residents are not getting their fair share of the American dream.
