ORANGE - The Reservoir Community Farm in Bridgeport is helping to give a recovering drug addict a new lease on life.
Chaz Weber, 18, says he had been struggling with drugs since he was 12, and only when he was arrested and issued community service did any real rehabilitation begin taking place.
Weber says he was arrested earlier this year after driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol with acid in his car. A judge then ordered him to do community service at the farm. According to Weber's mother, his experience at the farm has been life-changing.
Weber says he's eager to start a new, sober chapter of his life by writing and rapping about the lessons he's learned from his experiences. He says he has signed with a label and is currently working on an album.
Weber finished his community service at Reservoir Community Farm but continues to work there.
