WESTPORT - Residents of one Westport home are blaming the town?s new sewer system for thousands of gallons of raw sewage that poured from their bathrooms two days after Tropical Storm Irene.

The new system was designed by town engineers and sewer company Environmental One. Officials told neighbors that a faulty hose clamp was to blame for the sewage spill that occurred when power was restored.

After seeing what the family has endured, neighbors say they are skeptical about switching to this new system.

Westport's Public Works Director Stephen Edwards had no comment and said he was too busy to discuss the incident.
