NORWALK - Residents enjoyed a beautiful summer-like day today by celebrating fall festivities while some relaxed in the sand and surf one last time.

At the beach, many were flying kites, tanning and even swimming in the ocean.

Since many people had the day off, today was also the perfect day for apple and pumpkin picking, as well as other fall activities.

In 1979, Connecticut experienced an all-time low temperature of 33 degrees, while in 1949, the record high was 85 degrees.
