Residents line up to buy the new iPhone

NORWALK - Residents lined up early in Norwalk for the new iPhone that went on sale today.

One of the lines was outside the Verizon store on Westport Avenue. The store opened its doors at 8 a.m., an hour earlier than usual, just to let the crowd in.

The new smart phone has an upgraded camera, faster processor and the Siri assistant app, that will send messages, make phone calls and can even schedule meetings for its owner.

Those opting to wait for the iPhone 5, which is rumored to come out next summer, can sync their iPhone 4 to the computer and download the latest software update.
