STRATFORD - Some Stratford residents say they are outraged that the new home for Stratford High School could be right in their backyard.

Officials voted in favor of relocating the school during a preliminary meeting at the Board of Education headquarters this evening. Many neighbors told News 12 they didn't even know the board was considering renovating the school, let alone rebuilding and relocating it.

Stratford officials confirm that the new location for the high school would be at Longbrook Park, but some neighbors say that cannot happen. They say the school would ruin the neighborhood, bring in a lot of traffic and be a bad mix with the young kids living there.

The board says it has to make a decision on what to do with the school by June in order to keep grant money for the high school.
