STRATFORD - Stratford residents are pushing officials to add more fire hydrants in their neighborhood. The effort is in response to a fatal fire in September that killed two people. There is only one fire hydrant that exists for nearly 50 houses and firefighters say they had to run more than 2,500 feet of hose to reach the house in the fire.Neighbors of the fire victims say they may still be alive if firefighters did not have to spend time running hose the night of the blaze.Fire officials say they are looking into the matter.
