Restaurant owner shoots, kills alleged robber

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police say they are investigating after a restaurant owner shot and killed a would-be robber on Wade Avenue last night.

According to police, two armed men entered Peking Chinese Restaurant at around 8:30 p.m. and demanded cash. Police say the owner then turned the tables, pulling out his own gun and shooting one of the men in the stomach.

Officials say 21-year-old Allen Dixon died after driving off with his accomplice and crashing just two blocks away. The second suspect has not yet been caught.

Police say the owner was licensed to carry a gun and his weapon was registered.
