STAMFORD - The Stamford religious community is mourning the loss of a priest.

Reverend Richard Futie has died.

The pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church died while on vacation in Mexico.

Futie reportedly suffered a medical problem during a scuba diving excursion.

He was born in Greenwich, and lived in southwestern Connecticut for much of his life.

Futie was 58 years old.
