WESTON - Officials with the Rhode Island Parrot Rescue say they're providing shelter to more than 130 exotic birds that were rescued from a home in Weston Friday.

The birds were discovered in deplorable conditions last week.

Authorities responded after receiving reports of a foul odor in the area.

Hundreds of snakes, turtles, and other reptiles were also found.

Many of the snakes had died.
