Ridgefield High School mourns loss of Emma Sandhu, who was hit by car

RIDGEFIELD - Students and teachers at Ridgefield High School are mourning the loss of a student who was hit by a car over the weekend.

Emma Sandhu, 15, was hit by a car Friday night while she was walking down Ridgebury Road.

Police say the driver stopped at the scene and has not been charged in the accident.

Counselors were available at the school all day for students to talk to.

The director at the Ridgefield Playhouse says Sandhu brought magic to the stage and audiences loved her performance in this past year's production of "The Nutcracker," as well as in other past shows.

A memorial for Sandhu has been set up at the crash site. A Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Wednesday in Ridgefield.
