NORWALK - Rising gas prices have many people cutting back on spending.

AAA's website shows Connecticut above the national average at $3.80 a gallon for regular gasoline.

Many stations in southwestern Connecticut are even higher with many now over $4.

A Fairfield University economist says when consumers see prices over $4 their spending patterns change.
