BRIDGEPORT - Police dispatchers gave a turkey to a man who was robbed in Bridgeport on his way to a Thanksgiving dinner.

James Mulligan says he was walking past garages on Milne Street when he was robbed. The suspects took his wallet and the Thanksgiving turkey he had with him for the meal.

Public Safety Communications Center officials say the dispatcher who answered Mulligan's call to police felt bad for him.

Center director Doree Price says the dispatchers chipped in money and ordered meals for Mulligan and his friend from a Boston Market in Stratford.
