Roof fire prompts evacuation of Fairfield gym

NORWALK - A roof fire prompted the evacuation of a Fairfield gym Saturday morning.

The flames broke out at around 7:30 a.m. at the Gym at Southport Athletic Club on Old Post Road.

Fire officials say two fires were found on the roof, where two natural gas lines were repaired earlier this week.

The exact cause of the fire is currently unknown. No injuries were reported.
