STRATFORD - Stratford school officials say they're concerned over how roofs are holding up at district buildings following a record amount of snowfall in the region this winter.

According to town officials, a structural engineer has been hired to inspect the roofs at all school and administration buildings. At Stratford's Board of Education building on East Broadway, crews have already had to use a propane torch to remove built-up ice.

The superintendent of the district says that if the roof at any school is found to be structurally unsound, classes will be canceled there until the problem is fixed.
